At the core of Fleming Tech is a tight-knit team that brings together more than 70 years of combined experience in the aerospace industry. Founded in 2011 with ingenuity as our core belief, this quality inspires us and those who join us as the company continues to expand.
BRETT FLEMING
Brett Fleming is Fleming Tech’s Founder, President and Chief Innovator. His 20+ years of experience in aerospace industry programs include military defense projects for the X-31, X-43C, Honeywell OAV, Global Hawk, and C130Js.
After graduating from Virginia Tech in 1997 with a degree in computer engineering, Brett’s professional career began at RJK Technologies, where he was exposed to the wide range of military and commercial development processes. He rose through the ranks at RJK, becoming well versed in all aspects of the project development process. This hands-on experience in a small, fluid company set Brett on the path to developing his own flexible, innovative small business.
As team leader, Brett’s job is to listen to our clients and comprehend their wants and needs. He thrives on the “neglected” projects—the ones that have been declared “lost causes.” Brett is driven by the belief that Fleming Tech can do more for its clients than they even realize, and won’t accept that something “can’t be done.”
BRIAN ALEXANDER
After graduating from Virginia Tech in 1997, Brian has cultivated an expertise in mission and safety-critical software systems. This proficiency has served many types of clients, spanning the communication, medical, and aerospace industries.
As Fleming Tech’s Principal Engineer, Brian pursues exceptional standards for product quality and reliability as he translates the big picture of abstract ideas into day-to-day functionality. His perspective has etched into our team a firm understanding of solid development processes and ensures our projects’ efficiency and reliability across the phases of the software life cycle.
RANDY KOPF
As the former President of RJK Technologies and Vinings Aviation, Randy Kopf brings a wealth of knowledge to Fleming Tech and our clients as Technical Advisor. His 30+ years of experience span developing, integrating, and testing mission critical and safety-critical software and systems. Having worked on the C-5, X-43C, X-31A, F-16, C130J, E-6B, JSF, V-22, CH-47 as well as unmanned aircraft, Randy has a diverse background in avionics and aircraft systems.
Recent programs executed under Randy’s leadership include the Flight Control System for the X-31A, Form-Fit-Function replacement of the Digital Map for the C-130J, and Flight Management System upgrades for the C-130J. He also managed qualification activities for Flight Planning, Lateral Navigation, Vertical Navigation, and Mission Planning systems.
